41 members and guests turned out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for the combined SAQA meeting and the "Art from Cloth" gallery opening in Thousand Oaks . During the meeting after a few general SAQA updates, we all enjoyed our "show and tell" session and exciting news from several SAQA members including Sherry Kleinman's inclusion as a featured artist in Martha Sielman's Art Portraits book coming out in 2013; Pam Price Klebaum's new PAM status and her sale of two of her marvelous quilts "Stetch" and "The evolution of an artist" (Pam featured in inset) and Sheila Frampton-Cooper being featured in the upcoming Quilting Arts issue highlighting art quilts. Way to go girls! There were many other member updates, too many to list. We're so proud of all accomplishments as they illustrate the growth of our group. The "Art from Cloth" reception and exhibit was also great! 23 artists proudly displayed their works at the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery including several SAQA Members. Thank you all for sharing your talent with us. Special thanks to Eileen Alber for her key leadership with this exhibit and opening her shop "Quilter's Studio" early for us.
