Southern California SAQA Exhibition!!

Southern California is having a SAQA sanctioned Exhibition! This is a big deal! Here's what you need to know now below. If you have questions, email Jane LaFazio. Meanwhile, start working on those quilts!

All SAQA members in the Southern California region are eligible!


Sharing Stories: Expressions and Stitched Messages

How artists approach the telling of a story visually and what stories do they want to share with the viewers. Shared Stories will show a variety of work from representation through wild abstract with a breadth of art quilts created by contemporary artists.

gallery hours are W-F noon-6 and Sat-Sun 11-5

Jpeg images due by May 1 JWEAVERLING@frontporch.net
• Jpegs should be 300 dpi (or 5x7 or minimum 1MB file size)
• Up to 3 images each
• Work should be created should be 2008 or more recent
• Art should be ready to hang (sleeve preferred, with dowel and strung with picture wire, so that the piece can be hung on one nail, if possible.)
• Artwork size: 36x48" max (portrait orientation) to 10x10" minimum

If your work is selected, a short (paragraph) artist statement is requested.
Work will be insured while in the gallery
Commission for sales is 70% artist/ 30% gallery.


IMPORTANT DATES:
May 1   Deadline for entry either by email only (see jpeg requirements above) 
May 7   Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance by email
June 29-July 3 Accepted work hand- delivered between June 29th through July 3rd 
July 9 noon – 3pm  Reception with live music & hors d’oeuvres
September 4  Exhibition closes
September 7-10  Pick up unsold artwork
