Deborah Weir is teaching two new workshops in her Palos Verdes, CA, studio: Contemporary Embroidery, and Using the Embellishing Machine. Both start with design and color theory basics. 1 & 3-day workshops are available for the embroidery class; students learn the sequential application of traditional and modern materials (threads, Tyvek, beads, metals, etc.) to fabric to create a rich, dimensional surface. 1 & 2-day classes are offered for Using the Embellishing Machine in which students focus on choices of materials, threadless applique, shading, layering, dimension and texture achieved with the dry felting machine. $75/day or $65 if you provide your own embellishing machine. Dates arranged to accommodate students. Please call (310 325-1895) or see her website (DeborahWeir.net) to learn more.
