Member News - September 2009

Art Quilts Lowell 2009; Jamie Fingal's art quilt "Women Friends,"
Sherry Kleinman's piece "Moroccan Spice" and Deborah Weir's piece "Joolama III" have been juried into this exibit the Brush Art Gallery in Lowell, MA; August 5-Sept 19 as part of the Lowell Quilt Festival Aug 6-9.

Jamie Fingal will be in Series 400 of Quilting Arts TV, a pbs show, that started July 1st; pictures from Jamie's taping are on her Twisted Sister blog; her segment is 410. DVD's of Series 400 are available on the Quilting Arts and Interweave Press websites.

Kathleen McCabe has an art quilt accepted into Quilt National at the Dairy Barn in Athens Ohio. The exhibit runs until Sept 7th, then travel to various venues around the United States for two years.

Deborah Weir has a piece in SERE: Study 5, in the Main Street Gallery's National Small Quilt Works show, July 23-September 6, in Groton, NY.

Linda Miller's "Gaia's Magic Hour" is in Open Call L.A. 2009, August 13th to September 27th, at the L.A. Municipal Art Gallery, Barnsdall Park. 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles 90027, (323) 644-6269. Gallery is open Thursday - Sunday Noon-5:00pm. First Friday Noon-9:00pm. Free Admission.

Rose Hughes has a feature article in the September issue of American Quilters Magazine "Shaping the Landscape," page 42.

Rose Hughes - Solo Exhibit "Back-Roads Journey" is on display at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravnganza XVI - September 17-20th.

Sandra Lauterbach has a piece in "2009 National Small Art Works" exhibition from July-September 2009 at The Main Street Gallery, Groton, New York. Her piece won an Honorable Mention.
